On the 8th, domestic cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck announced that it will transfer its metaverse business, including the operation of "OASIS," to Monex Crypto Bank.
According to the announcement, Monex Crypto Bank will take over the business on the 2nd of next month. With this business transfer, the operation of the project and the issuer of the NFT "OCP (OASIS COMMUNITY PASS NFT)" issued by OASIS will be transferred to Monex Crypto Bank.
Both Coincheck and Monex Crypto Bank belong to a corporate group whose holding company is the Monex Group.
Monex Crypto Bank is involved in research, planning, development and consulting on cryptocurrency services, and operates the app "Cheeese" that allows users to receive bitcoins. It will also be working on the metaverse business in the future.
Since its launch in January last year, the OASIS project has collaborated with many celebrities and companies, including holding virtual fashion shows and live music concerts.
The official Discord community, which the company launched in May, has attracted a lot of attention, with the first batch of 500 units sold out in 40 minutes after the general sale began.
In the future, Monex will aim to further evolve and accelerate the management of these projects and communities, with Monex Crypto Bank, which conducts research on Web 3.0 within the Monex Group, at the center. The company will also promote the metaverse business and create valuable Web 3.0 experiences under the new management structure.
Atsushi Bandai, CEO of Monex Crypto Bank, said in the announcement, "We will continue to work closely with Coincheck, a sister company within the Monex Group, to accelerate the growth of the OASIS project and the provision of new Web 3.0 experiences."
Kensuke Amano, executive advisor at OASIS, also stated, "OASIS's activities and initiatives will not change even after the transfer to Monex Crypto Bank," and emphasized that the company will continue to evolve through repeated co-creation with token holders.
