Cryptocurrency derivatives exchange Bitnomial announced that it will launch the first CFTC-compliant XRP futures in the US on the 20th (US time).

In addition, with the regulatory clarification as a backdrop, it will voluntarily withdraw its lawsuit against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The background to this is that the SEC decided to withdraw its appeal in a lawsuit against Ripple, Inc., which deemed XRP an unregistered security. In this case, the district court ruled that sales of XRP on public exchanges did not qualify as a security.
