State Stablecoin Plans

The US state of Wyoming may launch its own US dollar stablecoin, "WYST," as early as July 2025.

According to "govDelivery," which received information from the state's Governor Mark Gordon on the 26th, the state is currently in the testing stage on multiple blockchains. If launched as planned, it is expected to be the first stablecoin issued by a public institution in the US at this time.

What is a stablecoin?

A cryptocurrency designed to always have a stable price. Its value is backed by fiat currency or cryptocurrency, and its price is determined by algorithms, etc.
