Tether purchases additional 8,888 BTC in 1Q

It is the sixth largest Bitcoin wallet

Tether, the largest stablecoin, purchased an additional 8,888 BTC in the first quarter of 2025 (January to March), and completed the transfer from the Bitfinex exchange to its own wall address the day after the quarter ended. The purchase amount is equivalent to approximately $735 million (approximately 110 billion yen) at current rates, and was confirmed on April 1st by tracking on-chain analysis platform Arkham.

Tether has announced a policy to regularly allocate 15% of its corporate profits to purchase Bitcoin (BTC) from May 2023, and this purchase is part of that effort. The company is the issuer of the stablecoin USDT...
