"Bitbond" proposal: Trump administration's Bitcoin reserve strategy could result in annual budget savings of 10 trillion yen

On April 2, the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) proposed that the United States adopt a Bitcoin-enhanced version of U.S. Treasury bonds, called "Bitbonds." This innovative fiscal tool would address several key objectives, including the creation of a strategic Bitcoin reserve as mandated by President Trump.

The policy proposal, co-authored by Andrew Horns, founder and CEO of NewMarket Capital and Battery Finance, and Matthew Pines, executive director of BPI, calls "Bitbonds" a "timely and direct way to reduce the interest burden on U.S. Treasury bonds while simultaneously increasing the country's Bitcoin holdings."
