US lawmaker submits bill to promote surplus gas utilization, "Making Texas a top Bitcoin mining hub"

On March 31, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas submitted a new bill, the "FLARE Act" (Facilitate Lower Atmospheric Released Emissions Act), to promote on-site power generation by making effective use of surplus gas.

This bill encourages the use of surplus gas, which is generated during the extraction, refining, and processing of oil and natural gas and is usually incinerated (flared), as a source of electricity for Bitcoin mining.
