Did Homeland Security know?

Cryptocurrency lawyer James Murphy has filed a lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) alleging that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) knows the identity of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. Murphy filed the lawsuit in federal district court on April 7, seeking DHS disclosure of documents related to Nakamoto's identity.

The background to the lawsuit is comments made by DHS senior investigator Rana Saud at the 2019 Offshore Alert Conference on Financial Intelligence and Investigations. At the conference, Saud allegedly claimed that DHS had interviewed Nakamoto in California. Murphy...
