Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies Rebound Sharply as Trump’s Tariff Easing Boosts Investor Sentiment

In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin (BTC) rose 8.9% from the previous day, trading at $82,350 per BTC.

Major altcoins also saw broad-based gains across the board.

President Donald Trump announced a 90-day suspension of reciprocal tariffs on more than 75 countries, which took effect immediately, along with a reduction of the general tariff rate to 10%.

Trump stated, “More than 75 countries have requested negotiations with U.S. representatives. In light of their willingness to discuss trade barriers and tariff issues, I have approved a 90-day suspension. This takes effect immediately, and the general tariff will be reduced to 10%.”

Investor sentiment was further boosted by remarks from hedge fund manager Scott Bessent, who praised the move as a strategic step toward de-escalating global trade tensions—a factor that appears to be fueling the crypto market’s sharp rebound.
