U.S. Stablecoin Regulation Gains Momentum in Both Houses of Congress; Trump Administration Aims for Passage by August

Growing Momentum for Stablecoin Regulation

Under the Trump administration, the United States is seeing accelerated efforts toward establishing stablecoin regulations.

On the 3rd, the House Financial Services Committee approved the “Stablecoin Transparency and Accountability Act (STABLE Act)” with 32 votes in favor and 17 against. The bill now moves forward to a full vote in the House of Representatives.

The legislation was drafted by Republican Representatives French Hill and Bryan Steil. During a committee hearing held on the 9th, Chairman Hill addressed the approval, stating:
"Building on this momentum, it is our responsibility to continue working toward a comprehensive regulatory framework that brings clear rules to the digital asset market."

The STABLE Act is seen as a key pillar in the broader push to regulate digital assets under a unified and transparent legal structure, with bipartisan discussions continuing to unfold in both chambers of Congress.
