Bitcoin-denominated life insurance company Meantime raises 5.7 billion yen in funding

On the 10th, Meanwhile, which offers life insurance denominated in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC), announced that it had raised $40 million (approximately 5.7 billion yen) in a Series A round. The company's valuation has reached $190 million (approximately 27.1 billion yen).

With this funding, the company plans to accelerate the global expansion of Bitcoin-denominated life insurance and annuities.

The round was led by Framework Ventures and Fulgur Ventures. Bitcoin-specialized bank Xapo and entrepreneur Wences Casares also participated.
