Trump tariffs are shock therapy

Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, a US investment management company, introduced an analysis by US economist Art Laffer explaining the destructive impact of tariffs on the Trump administration's tariff policy.

She expressed a positive view that ultimately, "negotiations could lead to lowering global tariffs and non-tariff trade barriers."

In her weekly newsletter on the 15th, Wood described President Donald Trump's tariff regime as "shock therapy" and pointed out that, paradoxically, it has the potential to pave the way for freer global trade.
