Riot signs $142 million loan deal with Coinbase, secured by Bitcoin

Secured BTC-backed credit facility

Cryptocurrency mining company Riot Platforms announced on the 23rd that it has signed a $100 million (approximately 14.3 billion yen) loan agreement with Coinbase secured by Bitcoin (BTC).

Coinbase will provide Riot with a multi-draw loan totaling up to $100 million for two months after the credit facility is signed.

Riot CEO Jason Les explained:

We have signed the first Bitcoin-secured loan agreement, which allows us to raise capital without dilution at an attractive fundraising cost.
