Continued development of core infrastructure

On April 30, Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of the cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH), revealed his focus areas for Ethereum development in 2025. The first pillar of his priorities is strengthening Ethereum's Layer 1 (L1) core infrastructure and strengthening security and privacy across the ecosystem.

Buterin cited single slot finality, long-term virtual machine (VM) evolution, statelessness, and enhanced security/resilience/decentralization as long-term directions for improvement in L1 development.
