German Authorities Seize Over 5 Billion Yen in Cryptocurrency from eXch

Cases of Cryptocurrency Seizure

The German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) announced on the 9th that it had seized virtual currency worth approximately 34 million euros (about 5.5 billion yen) from the cryptocurrency exchange eXch, which was operating illegally.

The seized cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Dash (DASH), although the agency has not disclosed the amount seized for each currency. There have been instances last year in Germany where the authorities seized and sold a large amount of Bitcoin, causing market concerns about selling pressure, and this announcement is also attracting attention.
