City of Belo Horizonte in Brazil Approves Bitcoin Bill

The city council of Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil, approved a Bitcoin (BTC) bill on the 7th. The bill is part of a project to transform the city into the 'capital of Bitcoin'.

The bill, 'PL 124/25', was presented by Vilherme Santos of the Libertarian Party. Out of 34 council members, 20 voted in favor, 8 against, and a total of 6 abstained. The bill is currently awaiting final approval from the mayor.
