Coinbase shares rise more than 9% on positive growth after being included in the S&P 500 index

First pure crypto company included in the S&P 500 index

Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, announced on the 13th that it will be included in the S&P 500 Index, a major U.S. stock index. The company is scheduled to replace Discover Financial Services and be included in the index before trading begins on May 19th. Following this announcement, the company's stock price rose by more than 9% in after-hours trading.

Coinbase is a company that listed directly on the Nasdaq on April 14, 2021, and its current market capitalization is approximately $53 billion.
