El Salvador Achieves Record High Paper Gain of ¥51.5 Billion from Bitcoin Investment

According to a social media announcement by President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador on the 19th, the country's investment in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) has resulted in a paper gain of $3.57 billion (¥51.5 billion). As the price of BTC approaches its all-time high of $108,000, the country's investment return rate for this year has exceeded 120%. A screenshot posted by President Bukele on platform X shows that against an original investment of $287 million, the held Bitcoins are now valued at $644 million. Currently, the country holds approximately 6,181 BTC, having recorded a paper gain of $69.8 million this year alone.
