Satoshi or Bit? Bitcoin's Price Surge Reignites Basic Unit Debate

'Satoshi is Confusing'

As the price of Bitcoin (BTC) exceeds 15 million yen, the debate over its basic unit has reignited within the community.

The catalyst was Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP) 177, which aims to redefine Bitcoin's basic unit. Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter (now X) and a long-time Bitcoin advocate, has expressed his support for this proposal.

For those new to Bitcoin, 'Sats' (Satoshi) can be very confusing. It would be better to use 'bits' for Bitcoin, or simply call it Bitcoin.
