'No Securities Nature in NFTs with Royalties'

On the 19th, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce stated that most Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) do not possess the characteristics of securities. This statement is not an official view of the SEC.

Commissioner Peirce opined that NFTs, even those designed to pay royalties to creators, are not securities.

NFTs, short for Non-Fungible Tokens, are digital tokens with unique, irreplaceable value. They are used not only for trading 'digital items' in blockchain games but also serve as proof of ownership for high-value art and enable secondary markets that were difficult to realize in pre-owned sales...
