Executing Bitcoin Purchase

On the 28th, major US video game retailer GameStop announced in an SEC 8-K filing that it had acquired 4710 BTC. While the company did not disclose the cost of the purchase, it is believed to have utilized the $1.5 billion in convertible bond funds raised in April. On March 25, GameStop's board of directors unanimously approved a new investment policy to include Bitcoin as part of its financial reserves. The policy also allows for investments in US dollar-denominated stablecoins, marking a strategic shift for the company, which is well-known as a meme stock.
