SoftBank-backed '21 Capital' Raises Additional ¥14.4 Billion for Bitcoin Purchases

Total Funds Reach $685 Million

Cryptocurrency investment firm '21 Capital', led by Strike founder Jack Mallers, announced on the 28th that it has completed an additional fundraising of $100 million through the issuance of convertible bonds. The company's total fundraising has reached $685 million, with major investments from Tether and SoftBank. The newly raised funds are intended for additional Bitcoin (BTC) purchases, adding to the already held 4,812 BTC, with an additional $3.6 billion worth expected to be transferred under a merger agreement. Through a SPAC merger with Nasdaq-listed Canter Equity Partners, the company is expected to become the third-largest corporate holder of Bitcoin.
