The decentralized video processing platform Livepeer (LPT) experienced a surge in price of more than double following its listing announcement on South Korea's major exchange, Upbit. Included in the same listing announcement, Pocket Network (POKT) saw its value skyrocket by more than six times. While major stocks were declining, LPT and POKT exhibited contrarian rises.

Upbit is known as one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea, famous for significant capital inflows into newly listed tokens. This listing dramatically increased visibility and investor interest in both projects, resulting in concentrated buying pressure.

The price increase for Livepeer was not only due to the listing announcement but also boosted by the disclosure on May 31...
