Texas Legislature Passes Bitcoin Reserve Fund Bill, Awaiting Governor's Signature

Governor's Signature to Make Texas the Third State in the U.S. to Hold Cryptocurrencies

On May 31, the Texas State Senate adopted the conference committee report for Senate Bill 21 (SB21), which allows the establishment of a Bitcoin (BTC) reserve fund by the state government, with a vote of 24 to 7. With the adoption by both chambers, the bill now awaits the signature of Governor Greg Abbott, making Texas increasingly likely to become the third state in the U.S. to hold Bitcoin, following New Hampshire and Arizona.
