Russia's Largest Bank Sberbank Launches Bitcoin Structured Bonds

Expanding to Offer Multiple Cryptocurrency Products

Sberbank, Russia's largest bank, announced on May 30th that it has begun issuing structured bonds based on the cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC).

Although Russia has previously maintained a cautious stance on cryptocurrency trading, this move indicates a potential shift in policy.

The product allows investors to gain returns from both the movements in Bitcoin's USD price and the potential rise in the USD exchange rate against the Russian ruble. It is already available to qualified investors in the over-the-counter market.
