Anomaly in Bitcoin's Bull Cycle, Potential for Prolongation, Analysts Say

On December 5, Crypto Dan, a registered analyst at the cryptocurrency on-chain analysis firm Cryptoquant, announced that the current Bitcoin (BTC) bull cycle is showing characteristics significantly different from past trends. In the 2024-25 cycle, there have been two sharp declines following strong rises, marking a notable deviation from traditional patterns.

Compared to previous bull cycles, there was a 7-8 month adjustment period in the mid to late stages of the 2017 cycle, and the peak cycle of 2021, influenced by the onset of COVID-19 in 2020, initiated an extended adjustment period of about one year (2019-2020).
