BlackRock's 'IBIT' Surpasses $70 Billion, Setting Record for Fastest Asset Accumulation in ETF History

Five Times Faster Than Previous Record

On October 10th, Bloomberg's senior ETF analyst, Eric Balchunas, reported that BlackRock's cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) spot ETF, 'IBIT', has surpassed $70 billion (approximately 10 trillion yen) in assets under management, marking the fastest growth in ETF history.

Citing charts from other X users, he explained that IBIT reached the $70 billion mark in just 341 trading days after its launch in January 2024. The previous record was held by the gold ETF 'SPDR Gold Shares (GLD)', which took 1,691 trading days to reach this level, making IBIT's growth approximately five times faster.
