Texas BTC Reserve Fund Bill to Automatically Become Law if Not Signed by Governor by June 22

On the Verge of Becoming Law?

The signing deadline for Texas Governor Greg Abbott's Bitcoin (BTC) Reserve Fund Bill, SB21, is fast approaching on June 22. According to the expert account Bitcoin Laws, if Governor Abbott neither signs nor vetoes the bill, it will automatically become law under the Texas Constitution.

On May 31, the Texas State Senate adopted the Senate Bill 21 committee report by a vote of 24 to 7, allowing the state government to establish a Bitcoin reserve fund. With the adoption by both chambers, the bill now awaits the Governor's signature, poised to make Texas the third state in the nation, following New Hampshire and Arizona, to officially hold Bitcoin.
