Iran's Central Bank Imposes Business Restrictions on Cryptocurrency Exchanges Following Pro-Israel Cyberattack

Iran's Central Bank Takes Measures to Prevent New Attacks

Following a cyberattack on Nobitex, Iran's largest cryptocurrency exchange, the Central Bank of Iran has reportedly imposed operating hour restrictions on all domestic cryptocurrency exchanges. According to a report by Chainalysis on the 18th, trading is now limited to the hours between 10 AM and 8 PM. The purpose of this measure is to enhance monitoring and reduce the likelihood of further hacking incidents, especially outside of these hours when cybersecurity responses may be delayed. Furthermore, Nobitex has transferred a significant amount of Bitcoin (BTC) to what is believed to be a newly established cold wallet to bolster its security system.
