Nauru, the World's Smallest Island Nation, Establishes the First Cryptocurrency Regulatory Authority in the Pacific

On June 17, the Parliament of the Republic of Nauru passed legislation to establish the first cryptocurrency regulatory authority in the Pacific region, the Command Ridge Virtual Asset Authority (CRVAA). This new authority will enable businesses based in Nauru to operate through a registration system for cryptocurrency operators. Nauru is a small island nation in the Pacific with a population of about 10,000, historically dependent on phosphate mining. It is recognized by the United Nations Multidimensional Vulnerability Index as one of the most economically and environmentally vulnerable countries in the Pacific.
