Reflecting the Trump Administration's Cryptocurrency Promotion Policy

On the 26th, William B. Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), instructed government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to prepare proposals for evaluating cryptocurrencies as assets in mortgage evaluations. Pulte stated in a post on platform X that this decision was made 'in line with President Trump's vision to make the U.S. the global capital of cryptocurrencies.' Both enterprises, established by Congress, buy mortgages from financial institutions to provide liquidity and stability to the market. Traditionally, mortgage evaluations have accepted applicants' savings and publicly traded securities as collateral, but cryptocurrencies have been excluded due to their high price volatility and regulatory opacity...
