SEC Commissioner Peirce Indicates Potential Realization of Physical Redemption for Bitcoin Spot ETFs

On the 25th, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce expressed optimism about the realization of physical redemption for cryptocurrency ETFs, including Bitcoin (BTC). She made these remarks during a panel discussion at the Bitcoin Policy Institute. Commissioner Peirce stated, 'The SEC is currently reviewing the application documents related to physical redemption. I believe it is indeed likely to be realized eventually. While I cannot preemptively judge from my position, the significant interest it has garnered is undeniable.' Physical redemption refers to the process where ETF shares are redeemed not in cash but directly in the underlying asset, such as Bitcoin in this case.
