Republic Launches 'rSpaceX', a Cryptocurrency Token Tracking SpaceX Stock Price, for Retail Investors

This week, the investment platform Republic began the presale of 'rSpaceX', a blockchain-based token that tracks the stock price of Elon Musk's aerospace company, SpaceX. Utilizing the crowdfunding provisions of the 2012 JOBS Act (SEC Form C), the company has opened up investment opportunities in private companies that were previously accessible only to institutional investors. The rSpaceX tokens are issued in the form of promissory notes, allowing holders to participate in the stock price movements without becoming direct shareholders of SpaceX, which had an estimated corporate value of $350 billion as of December last year.
