Rules of Tokenizing Securities

On the 9th, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, head of the Cryptocurrency Task Force, announced that securities tokenized using blockchain technology are classified as securities.

While acknowledging the potential of blockchain technology, she pointed out that it does not have the capability to change the nature of the underlying assets. Market participants dealing with tokenized securities are preemptively advised to comply with securities laws.
