New U.S. Comptroller of Currency, a Catalyst for Regulatory Easing

On July 10th, the U.S. Senate confirmed Jonathan Gold, a former blockchain company executive, as the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The vote was passed with a 50 to 45 margin, and it now awaits President Trump's signature. Mr. Gold previously served as the Chief Legal Officer at Bitfury, a major blockchain company involved in Bitcoin mining and blockchain technology development.
