‘Bitcoin Jesus’ Roger Ver Sues Spanish Authorities Over Tax Evasion Charges

Lawsuit Filed to Prevent Extradition to the USA

Roger Ver, an angel investor in Bitcoin (BTC)-related startups, has filed a lawsuit against Spanish authorities to prevent his extradition to the USA on tax evasion charges, as reported by Bloomberg on the 17th. Ver, who has been an early believer in the potential of Bitcoin since around 2011, has invested heavily in related startups as an individual, contributing to the early adoption of the cryptocurrency. He is also known by the moniker ‘Bitcoin Jesus’. Ver has submitted a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights, arguing that the Spanish authorities violated his legal protections by ordering his extradition to the USA for trial...
