President Trump Signs Stablecoin Bill, Establishing the First Comprehensive Cryptocurrency Regulation in the US

During the signing ceremony at the White House, he emphasized this as a 'major step in establishing US superiority in global finance and cryptocurrency technology.' The GENIUS bill establishes a federal regulatory framework for the stablecoin market, which is valued at approximately $250 billion. Stablecoins are regarded as relatively safe cryptocurrencies, their value pegged to the US dollar or government bonds. The bill was overwhelmingly passed in the House of Representatives on the 18th with a vote of 308 to 122, receiving bipartisan support from 206 Republicans and 102 Democrats.
