Bitcoin Whale Awakens After 14 Years, Transfers 70 Billion Yen Worth of BTC

What was the purpose of the move?

According to data from blockchain analytics firm Arkham, a Bitcoin whale wallet that had been dormant for over 14 years resumed activity on the 24th. The wallet first executed a test transaction of 0.0018 BTC, then moved its entire holdings of 3,962 BTC (approximately 70 billion yen) to a new address. Blockchain records from BitInfoCharts indicate that the dormant address had been accumulating BTC since January 2011. At that time, the price of Bitcoin was about $0.37, with a total cost of $1,453. The current value of the assets has inflated more than 320,000 times. This wallet reactivation is part of a series of similar events occurring this month...
