GameSquare Treasury Acquires CryptoPunk NFT for ¥750 Million

Including NFT Yields

On the 24th, GameSquare Holdings, listed on the NASDAQ, announced the acquisition of a rare CryptoPunk NFT for $5.15 million (¥750 million) from Robert Leshner, founder of the DeFi protocol 'Compound'. This marks the company's first direct investment in NFTs, part of a blockchain strategy targeting stablecoin yields of 6-10% annually. The purchased NFT is one of only 24 'Cowboy Ape' CryptoPunks, considered among the most valuable in the collection of 10,000. GameSquare issued $5.15 million in preferred shares for the purchase, granting conversion rights to approximately 3.4 million common shares at $1.5 each.
