US SEC Launches 'Project Crypto', Aiming for On-Chain Transition of US Financial Markets

On the 31st, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins announced the initiation of 'Project Crypto', a comprehensive committee-wide initiative aimed at modernizing securities rules and regulations to facilitate the on-chain transition of the US financial markets. This initiative is part of a broader effort to realize President Trump's vision of making the US the global capital of cryptocurrencies. The project, led by Commissioner Hester Peirce's cryptocurrency task force and the policy division, will rapidly develop proposals to implement recommendations from the President's Working Group (PWG). Chairman Atkins emphasized that this initiative positions the US to lead in business startups, cutting-edge technology development, and capital market participation.
