The Third Major Wave of Profit-Taking

According to a weekly report by on-chain cryptocurrency analysis firm CryptoQuant, Bitcoin (BTC) has experienced its third major wave of profit-taking in the current bull market. Realized profits in late July reached $6-8 billion, a level comparable to the profit-taking phases of March 2024 and December 2024 to February 2025.

CryptoQuant indicates that new whale investors (those who acquired Bitcoin within the last 155 days) were the main drivers behind this selling pressure. When Bitcoin reached a new high of over $120,000 in mid-July, these investors actively executed profit-taking sales.
