Ethereum Breaks $4000 for the First Time in 8 Months, Driven by Corporate Financial Strategies

Still Below 2021's All-Time High

Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, broke the $4000 mark on Friday for the first time in eight months. On exchanges like Coinbase, it climbed as high as $4070, capturing the attention of investors. Over the past 24 hours, it has risen by about 5%, over the past week by 15.2%, and about 50% over the past month. Throughout much of 2025, it struggled against Bitcoin, at times losing half of its value. Following President Trump's Liberation Day tariff announcement in April, the ETH/BTC ratio dropped to around 0.018. However, since late April, it has outperformed Bitcoin by approximately 90%.
