The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially announced the conclusion of its lawsuit with Ripple. On the 12th, Commissioners Hester Peirce and Chair Paul Atkins expressed their intention to now concentrate on creating a clear regulatory framework for the cryptocurrency industry. Commissioner Peirce commented, 'The lawsuit between the SEC and Ripple has finally concluded. We can now focus our efforts on establishing a clear regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.' Chair Atkins also responded, saying, 'This is an opportunity to shift our energy from the courtroom to the policy-making table.' On the 8th, the SEC and Ripple agreed to withdraw their mutual appeals to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
