Moving Towards Stablecoin Issuance

On the 21st, leading cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask officially announced the launch of its native stablecoin, 'MetaMask USD (mUSD)'.

In the context of clearer regulations such as the enactment of the 'Genius Act' in the United States and the advancing adoption of stablecoins, MetaMask explained its move to launch mUSD. This marks the first instance of a self-custodial wallet issuing its own native stablecoin to date.

About the Genius Act

A regulatory framework in the United States for payment-oriented stablecoins. It has already been signed by President Trump and is officially legislated.
