PetroChina Considers International Settlements Using Stablecoins

Following Hong Kong's Stablecoin Regulations

On the 27th, Wang Hua, the CFO of China's largest oil and natural gas company, announced plans to begin investigating the feasibility of using stablecoins for cross-border settlements.

This move is closely monitored in light of recent developments concerning the issuance licenses for stablecoins by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).

As of August 1st, Hong Kong has officially implemented its stablecoin regulations. Under these regulations, all entities issuing or promoting stablecoins in Hong Kong must apply for the relevant licenses.
