Improbable, a UK-based company funded by SoftBank Group and major US venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), announced on the 2nd that it has launched the mainnet of its L1 blockchain 'Somnia'. Somnia was developed by Improbable under a contract with the Somnia Foundation. The announcement described it as the first blockchain designed for large-scale virtual worlds and an open digital economy.
