MoneyGram Launches Stablecoin Remittance Service

On the 17th, MoneyGram, a major player in international remittances, announced a new remittance service in partnership with wallet infrastructure firm Crossmint, utilizing stablecoins. In this service, users receive text messages on their smartphones and can instantly access funds in USDC within the integrated Crossmint wallet. The service is initially launching in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in Colombia, South America, with plans to expand to other Latin American markets subsequently. Recipients can choose to convert their funds into local currency as cash or keep it as digital dollars.
