U.S. SEC to Significantly Simplify Listing Procedures for Cryptocurrency ETFs

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced on the 17th that it has approved new comprehensive listing standards proposed by Nasdaq, Cboe BZX, and NYSE Arca. Under these new rules, commodity-based trust shares, including those for cryptocurrency ETFs that meet the requirements, can now be listed without the traditional individual review process.

The newly approved standards will apply only when each product meets the specified eligibility requirements. Conditions include the underlying commodity being traded on an Intermarket Surveillance Group (ISG) member market and the futures contracts being traded on designated contract markets, including Coinbase, for at least six months.
