UK Authorities Seize Bitcoin Worth 1 Trillion Yen

On September 29, the London Metropolitan Police announced that a Chinese national, Qian Zhimin, was found guilty in a major fraud case involving the cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC). During the investigation, 61,000 BTC, equivalent to 1 trillion yen, was seized, marking it as the largest single cryptocurrency seizure in the world. The sentencing is scheduled for November. The 61,000 BTC were seized from Qian. When compared to corporate holdings, this amount ranks second only to Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy).
