IG Securities Launches CFD Trading for Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs

IG Securities, a UK-based online brokerage, began offering Contract for Difference (CFD) trading for two cryptocurrency-related ETFs on September 30. The ETFs, BlackRock's 'iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT)' and 'iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA)', are now available for trading in the company's 'Variety (including VIX)' account. In the Japanese market, the design of a regulatory framework for a 'physical Bitcoin ETF' is being cautiously advanced by the Financial Services Agency and industry groups. Discussions are ongoing regarding the deregulation of ETFs, alongside the proposed tax reforms for cryptocurrencies (transition to Financial Instruments and Exchange Act and application of separate declaration tax system).
