Square's Bitcoin Payment Terminals Introduced in U.S. Coffee Shops

Jack Dorsey-led Block Inc.'s payment service, Square, has reported instances of cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) payments. Coffee shop 'Compass Coffee' posted on X on the 16th that it has installed the world's first Bitcoin-compatible Square terminal. This follows an announcement on the 8th about the adoption of the 'Square Bitcoin' payment and wallet solution, indicating its implementation in retail settings where merchants can accept payments in Bitcoin and convert sales proceeds into Bitcoin.
